This two-hour workshop introduces new grad students to research safety and ethics at Stony Brook. Attendance is required for new grad students who will be supported as Research Assistants in certain programs.*

This workshop will cover the following topics: 

  • Introduction and overview of research compliance
  • Research involving human subjects, tissue or data
  • Hazardous Materials
  • Environmental Health and Safety
  • Use of Laboratory Animals in Research
  • Radiation Safety Awareness

The workshop will be held virtually via Zoom.
