This virtual live, 90-minute workshop will provide an overview of the demographics of employment for the federal government. Participants will learn about the General Schedule (GS) as well as the three types of positions in the federal government. The workshop will also explain the federal coding for chemists and chemical engineers and provide data about employment by geography, discipline, department, and agency to help participants match job opportunities with their experience, strengths, and values.
After completing this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify trends in federal hiring.
- Understand the benefits available to federal employees.
- Identify opportunities to get your start through student fellowships and internships.
Following the workshop, attendees will be able to ask their questions directly during a dedicated 30-minute Question and Answer session with the facilitator.
